Woking’s biggest and best fireworks display is back with a huge bang. This year’s theme is “A Night at the Movies”, and the whole display will be set to a soundtrack made up of the most memorable theme tunes from the biggest movies of our time. This is one display no one will want to miss!
The park gates will open at 5:30pm and the display itself will start at 7:30pm. There will also be lots of fun to be had at the funfair 5.30pm-9.30pm. Plus, food and drink stalls will be available for all, and entertainment during the evening will be provided by Radio Woking’s very own Justin Coll.
Tickets can be purchased online in advance at discounted prices, and will also be available on the night when contactless payment will be the preferred method of payment. Further information and tickets are available at www.wokingfireworks.org
The event is arranged by Woking District Rotary for the entire community in Woking to enjoy, and all proceeds from the event will go to carefully selected causes and charities.
In the interests of everyone’s safety
Alcohol, Chinese lanterns and personal fireworks, INCLUDING SPARKLERS, are not permitted at this event.
Bag checks will be carried out at all entrance gates; entrance will be refused to anyone declining to have their bags searched.
Viewers with mobility limitations
Entrance is available at all three gates (but please note Constitution Hill does have an incline). Disabled parking spaces are available in Woking Park car park.
A viewing area with hard standing suitable for wheelchairs is provided right by the White Rose Lane entrance. A disabled toilet facility will also be provided here.
General
Hot and cold food and non-alcoholic refreshments will be on sale throughout the event.
Please do not bring your bicycles or dogs (except guide dogs). Neither will be admitted into the event.
Toilets (both permanent and temporary) will be available located between the funfair area and the main display area.
Fireworks display location
The viewing area for the Woking Fireworks Extravaganza will be on and around the cricket pitch in Woking Park. The funfair will be situated behind the Pool In The Park. Refreshment stalls will be located at various points.
Entrance gates
There will be three entrance gates available: the main gate, alongside the Pool In The Park, at Constitution Hill and at White Rose Lane.
All gates will open at 5.30pm. The park will close at 10pm.
For safety reasons there will be no access at the Skateboard Park entrance/exit throughout the event.
Parking
Free car parking will be available on the night at Quadrant Court (less than five minutes’ walk from the Constitution Hill gate). Access is on Montgomery Road (off York Road). Postcode for SatNav GU22 7QQ. It will also be easy to leave this car park after the event.
Car parking is also available in Woking Park’s own car park (access via Kingfield Road), although this car park is expected to fill up fast, and in the multi-storey car park on Heathside Crescent (two minutes’ walk from the White Rose Lane gate).
Ample additional parking is available at Woking station car park (access off main forecourt) and in other town centre multi-storey car parks.
Please don’t park in nearby streets: it’s annoying for local residents.
