From leisurely strolls to challenging runs, Woking Borough has an abundance of green spaces and walking trails to explore and unwind in.
Here’s a roundup of some of the best spots to visit!
Horsell Common, just north of Woking Town Centre, is a great location to grab a breath of fresh air. With around 900 acres of open space, it’s the perfect place to stretch your legs and immerse yourself in nature. And if you’ve worked up an appetite, there are plenty of cafes and pubs nearby to enjoy afterwards.
If you’re taking the dog for a walk or fancy a run, Woking Park also offers plenty of green space to discover. With 3G football pitches, new tennis courts, a jungle-themed playground and a skatepark, there’s something for all the family.
Why not take your bike out? The upgraded towpath along the Basingstoke Canal makes a great route for a leisurely cycle or walk! Stretching 32 miles, this canal trail traverses the Borough from Brookwood to West Byfleet, where it meets the Wey Navigations.
If you want to escape from the fast pace of life and reconnect with nature, it’s worth a visit to Chobham Common or Pryford Common, to take in the beautiful views of the pine-topped heath and dense green surrounding areas. Alternatively, you can feed the ducks and let the kids run wild at Lightwater Country Park!
