The rumours are true!
Celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay is planning to open a new cookery school in Woking and looks set to stir up fresh success for a new breed of budding chefs – and for the town centre – when it opens early next year.
It has been confirmed that the winner of 16 Michelin stars and Hell’s Kitchen and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares presenter will share his culinary genius with students of all ages and cooking abilities who will have the opportunity not only to sharpen up their skills, but the chance to gain invaluable work experience in one of Gordon’s portfolio of world class restaurants.
Ramsay is no stranger to Woking. Gordon was previously linked to the renowned Tante Marie Culinary Academy, once the oldest independent culinary academy in the UK and a big name for Woking.
Gordon Ramsay’s head office confirmed that the new industry-leading facility will be up and running in Woking early in 2021.
An acquired taste for some, Ramsay runs some of the most successful restaurants in the world, including Petrus in Belgravia, Lucky Cat in Mayfair and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea.
He has also achieved star status as a television personality. In 2004 he launched the award-winning British series Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, in which he endeavoured to turn failing restaurants into profitable enterprises, and Hell’s Kitchen which he took on the challenge of turning aspiring restaurateurs into quality chefs.
Last month, Ramsay said he was looking at launching up to 50 new restaurants across the UK, creating around 2,000 jobs, as well as a major expansion in Asia.
“We have big dreams, big plans and a global strategy so ambitious it takes my breath away,” he told the Daily Mail after his group reported a £15m profit for last year.
We love ambition and we can’t wait to welcome the Gordon Ramsey Academy to Woking!
