The wait is over. Woking has joined the revolution underway in British chocolate after luxury chocolatier an cocoa grower Hotel Chocolat opened its newest store in Woking’s Peacocks Centre on Friday (13 September).
An original, creative and authentic company with ethics, Hotel Chocolat is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris who together have succeeded in making chocolate exciting again.
One of the world’s few chocolate makers to actually grow its own fair deal cocoa on the beautiful island of St Lucia, the company brings together cocoa-growing, chocolate-making, drinks, food and ice-cream and food – it’s reviving the ritual of drinking chocolate alongside a carefully curated menu of tea, coffee and snacks which includes its moreish, luxury brownies.
Its new Woking store offers the full whack of chocolatey treats - including Hotel Chocolat’s sought-after ‘Ice Cream of the Gods’ and which is only available at a select range of locations in the UK.
We have closely followed Woking Shopping’s progress for a number of years and the time is right to join the centre’s thriving offer,” Angus Thirlwell, CEO and co-founder of Hotel Chocolat, said:
So if you’re on the hunt for a birthday gift or looking for a way to woo a loved one, nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a chocolatey gift from Hotel Chocolat which has gifts for every occasion. What’s not to love?
The new store is also a great addition to the evolving food and drink offering at Woking Shopping, which also includes Côte, Bill’s, Carluccio’s, Las Iguanas and Loungers.
Cllr David Bittleston, Woking Borough Council leader, said: “As we continue with our town centre regeneration, Woking is fast becoming a destination of choice for premium brands.
We’re very proud that Hotel Chocolat has chosen Woking to open its latest store, which will add to our exciting retail and restaurant offer.”
The signing coincides with the ongoing construction of Victoria Square development, including 125,000 sq. ft of new retail floorspace anchored by a 50,000 sq. ft Marks & Spencer store and a 27,000 sq. ft Boots.
